Description

Chicago State University is a 14-building facility established in 1867. The project will be located in Douglas Hall (T0004) a 195,000 square foot, 3-story building established in 1972. The scope of work provides for the renovation of Douglas Hall, including creating a health professions nurse simulation lab/ hospital with the associated classrooms and offices. The work includes, but is not limited to, tuckpointing the exterior, renovating the lecture halls, passageways, classroom, upgrading infrastructure, restrooms, HVAC, electrical, IT upgrades, plumbing and abatement of hazardous materials. The majority of the scope occurs on the second floor of Douglas Hall with limited renovation scope of the first floor. Also included in the project is the renovation of approximately 20,000 square feet on the second floor of Douglas Hall to provide a Center for Solutions of Urban Populations. This space will include community meeting space, rental suites, offices, and cafe. This area is adjacent to the Nursing Simulation Lab and noise reduction is considered. Either the Single Prime Bidder or a protected subcontractor must be listed for each trade provided on the Bid Form. Only one protected subcontractor may be listed for each trade. Failure to identify the name and bid proposal cost of each listed protected subcontractor on the provided Bid Form or providing more than one protected subcontractor for each trade will be a material deficiency (no time will be allowed after bid opening to remedy deficiency) and will result in the rejection of the bid. All protected subcontractors listed must be prequalified with CDB in accordance with CDB Standard Documents for Construction, Article 00 21 05.
