Description | The intent of this project is to construct a new parking lot, to provide an additional 49 parking spaces. The scope of work includes: earthwork, asphalt, signage & pavement marking, storm water management, sediment & erosion control, lighting, etc. The Contractor is required to design and construct (Design/Build) the Segmental Block Retaining Wall indicated on plan sheet C-200. This work will be performed with best practices concerning sediment control under permit number (To Be Assigned) and will require stake-out of the Limits of Disturbance in the vicinity of the project work. All requirements of the permit will be enforced. Contractor shall contact the inspector listed on the permit prior to commencing work. Furnish, install and maintain sediment and erosion control devices as directed by plan and local authority having jurisdiction. Construct storm water control and ESD filtering devices per plan. Bidder’s attention is directed to the As-Built Inspection and Certification Requirements as being critical to the completion of the work. Full payment for the project cannot be released until the As-Built drawings are approved by MCDPS and the final sediment erosion control permit release completed. Grading will require typical clearing and grubbing of top soil and soil material. No excess material is to remain on the site. Preparation of the sub-surfaces and bearing sub-straits will be done in a manner consistent with accepted standard methods for this type of work. Coordination with a third party inspector for placement of fill material, concrete and asphalt will be required. Concrete surfaces shall have a light broom finish. Final grading shall be done in such a manner as to preclude tripping hazards, loose impediments and provide for the greatest potential survival of the sod. Care must be taken to protect surrounding area, with daily cleanup of debris and construction materials stored appropriately. |
