Description

Sealed Bids for the construction of the Contract A - Pretreatment Building Upgrade will be received by the North Beckley PSD. The Project consists of the following contract: A. This project, known as "Contract A -Pretreatment Building Upgrade" for the North Beckley Public Service District involves providing upgrading of wastewater facilities under one contract. The scope of work in this Contract A includes the following: Contract A -Pretreatment Building Upgrade 1. Demolish and Dispose of existing 1344 square foot Metal Building(28 feet x 48 feet), concrete foundations, sections of the existing concrete floor, and other related work. 2. Construct a 1944 square foot concrete masonry block building with a wood truss roof and architectural shingles including reinforced concrete foundations, reinforced concrete floor slab, garage doors, entrance doors, drain pipes, roof gutters, electrical work, and other related work. In cases where awork conflict exists between contract plans and specifications, the Contractor shall request a determination from the Engineer as to which shall govern. In cases where work has not been exactly detailed or specified, the Contractor will be required to use materials and workmanship equal to and comparable to other work and materials specified, for the project. In all cases, material and workmanship shall meet or exceed all established codes or standards listed in Section 01090, Reference Standards. B. Addenda issued prior to the opening of the bid shall be incorporated and become part of the Contract Documents. The contract documents shall include a copy of the "Certification of Receipt of Addenda" signed by the contractor. A. This project, known as "Contract A -Pretreatment Building Upgrade" for the North Beckley Public Service District involves providing upgrading of wastewater facilities under one contract. The scope of work in this Contract A includes the following: C. The work shall be done in full conformance with all acceptable codes, rules and regulations of the State of West Virginia and the municipalities in which the work is being performed and all applicable federal and local regulations pertaining to health and safety, to wages, hours, and unemployment compensation; minority business enterprises; and to liability, liens and claims. Contract A - Pretreatment Building Upgrade Construct 1,944 square feet masonry concrete block building structure to replace existing 1,344 square feet metal building including demolition and disposal of existing metal building, and other related work. Contract Times: 60 calendar days to substantial completion and 90 calendar days to complete work ready for final payment. Liquidated damages-$ 500 per day. Any contract awarded under this invitation for bids are expected to be funded by North Beckley PSD. Bids shall be submitted on the furnished Bid forms. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated on the Bid Form. The bids shall be submitted using the one envelope system. Envelope #1 will contain the required bid documents including the following: A. Bid submitted on time. B. Bid Guarantee Bond, Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Letter of Credit C. Certification of receipt of all Addenda to plans and specifications D. WV Contractor's License E. Drug Free Workplace Affidavit F. Robinson Engineering Co. 93 Virginia Street Beckley, WV 25801 - Phone (304) 252-7473 Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above, upon payment of a cost of $200.00 for each full-size set for each Contractor. A CD with PDF files of the bid set may be purchased for $ 50.00 for each Contract. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to "E.L. Robinson Engineering Co". The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Bidders must obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from E.L. Robinson Engineering in order to bid the project. A five percent (5%) Bid Bond or certified cashier's check must accompany all Bids. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Payment Bond and Performance Bond, each for 100% of the contract amount. Contractors are required to comply with all laws pertaining to prevailing wage rates for the State of West Virginia. No Bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the time of the opening of the Bids. Any Contractor submitting a Bid on this project hereby certifies, indicates, and acknowledges that he has a license and meets all the qualifications required by the statutes of the State and subdivision in which the work is to be performed. The Contractor shall comply with the West Virginia Contractor Licensing Act and shall require all subcontractors to comply with that Act. A Contractor's License Number is to be included on the bid submission. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids.
