Description

Tinkerbrook Culvert: Contractor shall replace an existing steel beam bridge with a single 6’-6” H x 22’ 1” W x 27’ 0” L aluminum box culvert. Welch Hill Culvert: Contractor shall replace an existing 6’ round steel pipe culvert set inside a rigid frame concrete bridge with a 5’ 8” H x 15’ 1” W x 72’ 6” L aluminum box culvert. Clifford Township has prepurchased and will furnish unassembled aluminum box culvert components including aluminum wing walls for both culverts. Contractor shall assemble and install both culverts. Install E&S measures, divert stream flows. Clear and grub vegetation. Remove existing structures, excavate for culverts allowing for stone base under the culvert bottoms. At Welch Hill Culvert fill in the channel associated with the previous stream alignment and build up a berm. Set culvert inverts 12 inches below the streambed and backfill inverts with existing streambed material. Pour concrete at base of headwall and toewall. Improve stream channel 100 feet total upstream and down. Place and compact stone backfill around and on top of each culvert. Place R-6 Riprap to protect the wingwalls on all 4 corners of each box. Reconstruct the roadway, which at Tinkerbrook will include building up the road profile for 150 linear feet total on both approaches to accommodate the higher structure. Set guiderail. Control traffic and perform all necessary incidental work, appurtenances and site restoration.
