Description

Contract : 2018000006 State Project : U331-67/1-1.86 00 Federal Project : STP-0671(010)D County: Monongalia DBE Goal: 8 % of Contract Bid Amount. Bidder Must Provide Written Assurance of Meeting Goal on Form in Proposal. Proposals will be received from prequalified and West Virginia licensed contractors only except that on Federal-Aid Projects a contractors' license is not required at time of bid, but will be required before work can begin. Registration is required with the Department of Administration, Division of Purchasing, in accordance with Chapter 5A, Article 3, Section 12 of the West Virginia Code. All contractors submitting bids on project(s) must submit electronically with their bid a Proposal Guaranty Bond for $500.00 or 5% of the total bid, whichever is greater. The West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways reserves the right to defer, delay or postpone the date for receiving and publicly opening proposals for any project designated in this advertisement, without the necessity of renewing such advertisement. All bidders holding valid bidding proposals will be notified of such deferment, delay or postponement and the date that proposals will be received and publicly opened. WV DOT - 001 - West Run Road The project consists of the widening of West Run Road and related intersection improvements in Monongalia County, West Virginia. The project is approximately 0.86 miles in length and is located along County Route 67/1 (West Run Road) between CR 67 (Stewartstown Road) and US Route 119 (Point Marion Road). The project also includes approximately 600 feet along CR 67 (Stewartstown Road) to extend the northbound right turn lane at West Run Road, and approximately 1,300 feet along US 119 (Point Marion Road) for the addition of a left turn lane and to improve the sight distance at West Run Road. In addition, the project includes the replacement of the existing bridge on West Run Road with a Precast Reinforced Concrete Box culvert. The purpose of the proposed project is to increase driver safety along West Run Road and reduce traffic and congestion by improving traffic flow and sight distance on West Run Road and its intersection with both Stewartstown Road and US 119. The project will improve safety by reducing crashes and accommodate future traffic volumes consistent with local and regional land use plans.
