Description

As of March 29 the project is already awarded but no awarded information available yet. The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is requesting bids for Overlay and Chip Seal Lincoln Road Butte Area. Questions or information relating to either specifications or requirements of this solicitation must be asked through the eMACS Q&A Board. Potential bidders must log into eMACS to submit a question on the Q&A Board. Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals and traffic control necessary to produce, haul, place, tack and compact approximately 3,493 tons of 3/4 " Commercial Plant Mix Grade S 64-28 asphalt mix material. The overlay shall be paved .15 feet thick and approximately 24 feet wide. Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, traffic control and incidentals necessary to produce, haul, place, roll and broom approximately 35,200 square yards of laid-in-place chip seal. The chip seal will be approximately 2.5 miles long and 24 feet wide. Contractor shall provide CHFRS-2P asphalt emulsion and Type 1 chips. Traffic control with pilot cars must be maintained until dusk or fading light each workday as determined by the Project Manager. The emulsion application rate for chip seals is estimated at .44 gallons per square yard. The cover material application rate is estimated at 25 pounds per square yard. Actual application rates will be based on the chip design and the actual field adjustments. If the cover material application rate of 25 pounds per square yard is not sufficient to provide a quality job, the Project Managers will jointly determine what the new application rate should be. Contractor must furnish a water truck for dust control and wetting of chips. Arrangements must be made by the Contractor for acquiring water for wetting and sweeping. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to determine the centerline and place reflective tabs prior to the chip seal. The Contractor will provide interim and final striping. Contractor is responsible for test trailer, transport, and setup. If the Department decides to perform testing at an area lab, this bid item will be deleted from the contract. The quantity is estimated and will be changed accordingly depending on pickup and delivery locations and miles transported. Contractor shall be responsible for all private property damage claims resulting from performance of the tasks described above. WORK IS REQUIRED TO BE COMPLETED ON OR BEFORE: AUGUST 31, 2022 Question Submission Close Date 2/10/2022 2:00 PM MST
