Description

For Lawn Care and Trimming Services for 2023,2024 and 2025. All bids shall be not to exceed for each year and show the total bid price for each year shown. Bids are expected to be awarded during the October 5,2022 PUSB meeting at 4:00 p.m. local time. Lawn Care and Trimming Services Grass mowing lawn care is required on parts of Peru Utilities properties. The 50 individual areas, divided among three utility divisions requiring lawn care covered by this bid. These areas involved, are identified and located in Attachment A. Please state an hourly rate should additional unidentified parcels be discovered. Furthermore, include an hourly rate for trimming of shrubberies in and around the different Peru Utilities facilities. Departmental supervisory personnel shall contact you when such work is in need of performance. The hourly rate quote shall be a separate item from lawn care rates. Frequency of Service 1. Lawn care and trimming services will begin on or around April 1 of each contract year and extend through to on or around October 31 of each contract year. 2. Mowing height shall not be less than 3 inches and the Contractor shall mow all designated areas. Contractor shall perform mowing services on a weekly basis or in an as needed basis due to extended drought conditions. 3. Mowing shall be as close as possible to fixed objects with damages to said objects such as curbs, buildings, fences, trees, plants etc. Hand trimming and removal of debris from the premises shall be required if debris is noticeable against normal clippings from mowing. 4. Certain areas shall be brush hogged no less than three times each year of mowing. Contractor shall perform removal of excessive debris from premises if noticeable from normal clippings. 5. There will be no utilization of chemical applications as a vegetation control or killer without the written permission of Peru Utilities. 6. It shall be the Contractors responsibility to take extreme care to avoid damages to trees, plants, shrubs etc. within the mowing areas. 7. Lawn care services shall commence during daylight hours only. 8. Mowing during wet weather conditions shall not take place until conditions are suitable to avoid rutting and/or turf damage. 9. The following shows the times and areas where mowing must be completed from Monday thru Friday, excluding holidays and weekends when Peru Utilities is to be closed. Peru Utilities Division of Water Management: 3:00 p.m. Grissom Water: 3:00 p.m. Grissom Wastewater: 1:30 p.m. Equipment 1. All equipment utilized on job sites shall be in good and safe working order. Equipment used shall have safety features and accessories where applicable and required by existing Occupational Safety Health Act (OSHA) standards and any other applicable laws. ] All bids are to be submitted on provided Form 96 as prescribed by the Indiana State Board of Accounts, with non-collusion affidavit completed, and must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashiers check or certified check in the amount $1,000.00 and placed in sealed bid. All bidders are required to have a valid email address to receive bidding documents. Any bid(s) that are incomplete or delivered beyond he noted deadline shall not be accepted or opened respectively. PUSB reserves the right to reject all bids, waive minor irregularities or errors if it appears that such were made inadvertently, or to accept such bid as, in the opinion of the Peru Utility Service Board, will be in the best interest of the City of Peru, Indiana.
