Description

Provide Paving of the Parking Lot for Smyth Hall, located on campus in Wytheville, Virginia. 1. Area to be paved is approximately 12,820 square feet. 2. Prior to work the entire paving area shall be cleaned of dirt and debris, that may cause defects in the new pavement. 3. Existing pavement shall be milled along all transition areas, and concrete curbs to allow for correct placement of new pavement. New asphalt must meet concrete walkways, curbs, and existing asphalt parking lot, as to create a seamless transition. 4. Tack edges and areas to receive asphalt. 5. Following tack coat, a scratch/leveling coat shall be applied to level any low areas or depressions. 6. After scratch coat is installed, a 2” overlay will be applied using VDOT Specification SM9.5A asphalt. 7. Machine roll to finish. 8. After overlay is complete, all parking spaces and roadway striping shall be installed back to original layout.
