Description | Scope of Work: 1. Qualified Electrical or Fire Suppression contractors are invited to bid the following scope of services on the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) campus. The scope includes the replacement of the fire pump system and replacement of the associated electrical power supply at the Tivoli Student Union building. 2. Demolition consists of the existing fire pump and associated equipment and piping, the existing jockey pump and piping, as well as the existing pump controllers and associated MCC, conduit, and conductors. New work consists of providing and installing: one electric-drive centrifugal fire pump and associated equipment and piping, one fire pump controller and associated feeder and conduit, one electric-drive centrifugal jockey pump and associated piping, one jockey pump controller and associated feeder and conduit, as well as one new distribution panel and associated conduit and conductors. 3. This project is an emergency project to replace a pump that was damaged by water; the building is currently on fire watch by AHEC, which will continue through the duration of the new pump installation. The Fire Engineer of record, incandescence life safety, has been in contact with Denver Fire and we are requesting expedited approval of this emergency replacement’s drawings and submittals. 4. Construction work must allow for safe use of the building around the renovation area. AHEC will provide an empty space on the same level as the pump for contractor’s use. |
