Description

(Construction Contracts Over $60,000 and Less Than $200,000) governing board ("Board") of the Alum Rock Union School District ("District") will receive sealed bids for the following project, MONUMENT SIGNS Bid No. B2223 Bid Package Bonds15 ("Project" or "Contract"). The Project consists of all labor, materials equipment and services necessary to remove existing monument signs and install new footings and signs at five(5) schools. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations and to possess one or more of the following State of California Contractor Licenses: [A]. The Bidder's license(s) must remain active and in good standing throughout the term of the Contract. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Work. The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. The successful Bidder shall comply with all requirements of Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1, of the Labor Code and Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations. For all work performed pursuant to this Contract, the Contractor and all subcontractors shall pay all workers not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, ("DIR") for the type of work performed and the locality in which the work is to be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to sections 1770 et seq. of the California Labor Code. Prevailing wage rates are also available from the District or the DIR website. This Project is subject to labor compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. The Bidder and all Subcontractors under the Bidder shall comply with applicable federal, State, and local requirements relating to COVID-19 or other public health emergency/epidemic/pandemic including, if required, preparing, posting, and implementing a Social Distancing Protocol. Bidder shall further comply with the California Department of Public Health's August 11, 2021, Order requiring workers on District sites to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or else subject to weekly testing for COVID-19. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed via email to the District to Construction Manager, Michael Blaz at michael.blaz@sixthdimensionpm.com. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the District in response to such questions will be issued in writing by Addenda and emailed, faxed, mailed, or delivered to all parties recorded by the District as having received the Contract. Questions received less than SEVEN (7) calendar days prior to the date for opening Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
