Description

Design and construct a replacement emergency backup generator at the Kent Heights Booster Pump Station - 55 Walmer Avenue East Providence, RI 02194. The existing 250 Kilowatt Onan (KW) diesel generator was originally installed in the late 1980’s and is past its useful life. The generator serves as emergency supply for all electrically supported equipment at the 2.5-acre (approximate) facility including booster pumps, newly installed aeration equipment, City radio communications, supervisory controls, chemical injection pumps, water quality analysis tools, and other ancillary equipment. In 2019, the facility upgraded utility service, replaced the main power panel, and replaced the automatic transfer switch to accommodate equipment installation aeration equipment installation the 6 million gallon storage on-site. The design and construction of the new generator shall be specifically tailored to maintain compatibility with the existing automatic transfer switch, minimize or not require interruptions to electrical service to the site, and be installed within the same areas as the existing generator.
