Consultant Engineering Services for Road Intersection Improvements

The selected consultant will review all traffic data provided by Whatcom County and gather any additional data needed to perform a traffic study that will examine the impacts to the traffic movements as a result of the at-grade railroad crossing. The study shall include conceptual exhibits supporting alternatives for potential intersection improvements. Consultants are encouraged to demonstrate their knowledge of the project-specific site and include any issues or ideas that may be appropriate to be considered for this project. The selected consultant will be expected to complete a conceptual design of the intersection improvements to support project planning, public outreach, and stakeholder discussion. This project involves a multi-agency interest so the selected consultant will be expected to be familiar with all standards and processes when working with Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT), Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), and Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC).
