Description | The Benjamin Cooper Tavern is located at 60 Erie Street, Camden, NJ 08102. The property is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. All work done on this project must conform to the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties (1995) and is subject to review by the New Jersey Historic Trust, as well as other agencies including but not limited to the State Historic Preservation Office, or the or the historic review body of the municipal authority. The scope of work consists of a single prime contract for: General conditions; acquisition of all required permits; provision of temporary facilities and controls; selective demolition, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, finish restoration, thermal insulation, wood doors, door hardware, maintenance of painting and coatings, new / restored interior gypsum plaster, drywall, painting, specialties, and alterations to the MEP-FA systems according to the Project Manual, plans and specifications. The principal activities involved in this project include: 1. Project Supervision and Administration of Historic Preservation Projects 2. Selective Demolition for a Historic Building 3. Masonry Repair for a Historic Building 4. Paint Restoration for a Historic Building 5. Gypsum Plaster Restoration in a Historic Building 6. Door Hardware Installation in a Historic Building 7. Electrical Installation in a Historic Building 8. Fire Alarm Installation in a Historic Building 9. Window Replacement in a Historic Building 10. Roof Repair in a Historic Building 11. Proposals for the above listed services are being solicited through a fair and open process in accordance with the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq. Proposed vendors are required to comply with the current requirements of N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 (Business Registration of Public Contractors); N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., N.J.A.C. 17:27, N.J.A.C. 5:34-1 and N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et. seq. (P.L. 1963, c. 150, Prevailing Wages), and with the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Rules in accordance with P.L. 1975 (N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq.). Failure to complete the Bidder's Qualifications Statement could result in disqualification of the prospective bidder. The qualifications of prospective bidders will be evaluated by representatives of the Camden County Historic Society, and the project architect(s) in accordance with the Evaluation Criteria set forth therein. Prospective bidders whose Bidder's Qualifications Statements are determined to be acceptable will be identified as Qualified Bidders. The Camden County Historic Society, or their agent, will notify in writing the Prospective Bidders who have been determined to be Qualified Bidders. The County's governing body will issue construction bid proposal forms, plans and specifications only to Qualified Bidders. All sealed envelopes containing a vendor response, including express delivery envelopes such as FedEx or UPS, must clearly identify the Bidder's name and address, and the name of the contact person for the Bidder, all clearly marked in the upper left hand corner on the outside of the front of the envelope, and "Benjamin Cooper Tavern, Restoration and Rehabilitation - Phase 1 - Request for Qualification", and bid opening date (Friday, March 24 2023) shall be printed on the exterior of the envelope. |
