Description | The City of Huntington Beach, in conjunction with the Cities of Garden Grove and Westminster, is requesting proposals to develop traffic engineering design, traffic signal operations, traffic signal timing and coordination, construction management, inspection services, and grant funding for the Valley View Street / Bolsa Chica Street corridor. This project includes synchronization of twenty-two (22) traffic signals within the Cities of Huntington Beach, Westminster, and Garden Grove along Valley View Street / Bolsa Chica Street. The project limits are Bolsa Chica Street/Warner Avenue in the City of Huntington Beach to Valley View Street/Chapman Avenue in the City of Garden Grove. The project segment is approximately 6 miles long and includes eight (8) signals maintained by the City of Huntington Beach, six (6) signals maintained by the City of Westminster, five (5) signals maintained by the City of Garden Grove, and three (3) signals maintained by Caltrans. The complete list of intersections, can be found in the application and a project location map for this corridor is included as Exhibit A. This project is funded in part by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Project P Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Project grant funds. The City of Huntington Beach will be the lead agency (agency and City will be used interchangeably) and responsible to optimize signal synchronization timing along the Valley View Street / Bolsa Chica Street Corridor. Caltrans is not a participating agency however preparing timing for SR-22 ramp, Garden Grove Blvd, and Tiffany Ave. signals on Valley View Street is a component of the project.
