Description

**As of September 06,2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The Cleveland Metroparks is inviting qualified construction firms interested in partnering with collaborative project team members to submit their qualifications for construction manager at risk services for the proposed Garfield Program Center, (the project) located in Garfield Heights, Ohio. The Project include one 1 new approximately 2,200 square foot building and will serve as the hub for Cleveland Metroparks Youth Outdoors and Outdoor Experiences. Programming will be offered for youth fishing and Try It watersports including kayaking, fishing, and standup paddle boarding. Trails, fishing piers, kayak launches, and meeting areas will be integrated into the restoration of this natural area. The current Garfield Park Pond and Stream Restoration work, brings back the former grandeur of Garfield Park by restoring Wolf Creek and re-establishing an offline lower pond for current and future generations, which is a critical investment in the environmental, social, and economic health of this community and our region. The Design Team (under separate contracts) led by Cleveland Metroparks staff architects will complete the following tasks as part of their project responsibilities during the design of the Project -Due Diligence Geotechnical evaluations, survey and mapping and utility needs analysis. - Schematic Design and Design Development- refine design from information gathered from the Cleveland Metroparks and conceptual design, complete site analysis and investigations to create site plans according to regulatory requirements for authorities having jurisdiction over the project area. Incorporate sustainable objectives into the design that reinforce Cleveland Metroparks conservation mission. -Document Preparation - prepared construction documents inclusive of all improvements and technical specifications. - Construction Administration- supply clarifications and information when requested regarding the design documents, issue revisions, review submittals and review. - Permitting submit to all jurisdictions having authority, review drawings as necessary to secure approvals and permits. The Design Team consists of Cleveland Metroparks staff architects as the architects of record, Cleveland Metroparks staff landscape architect (landscape architecture), and GPD (civil, mep, and structural). B. Scope of Work The selected Construction Manager at Risk, in partnership with the Cleveland Metroparks and Design Team, will develop pricing for the design, construction means and methods, identify long lead items and procurement obstacles and will construct the Project. The Construction Manager at Risk work items shall include, but are not limited to, the following - Design Phase Coordination - regular design review and development of cost implications 6 - (estimates) during the design process with the project team to ensure the Projects compliance with budget along with identification of long-lead items and procurement plans with a focus on material and labor availability. Design assist and early involvement partnerships will be sought where positive impact can be achieved. - Construction Phase - provide construction sequencing for project, conduct construction progress meetings, pre-construction and pre-installation conferences, record and distribute meeting minutes to the Project team. - Coordination and collaboration with Cleveland Metroparks skilled trades and site construction staff for potential portions of the construction (i.e., electrical, plumbing, framing, etc.). - Development of as-built drawings and close-out documents.
