Description

The City of Rifle seeks quotations from mechanical firms for the replacement of the RRWWRFs headworks makeup air unit. The scope of work will include, but is not limited to, a process which includes the following 1. Purchasing a new natural gas, direct-fired makeup air unit, with a heating capacity of 606,000 BTU. a. To maintain adequate air changes per hour in the headworks, MAU should be sized for a 5,550 CFM blower. b. The new MAU is also required to be able to communicate run status to the wastewater plants programmable logic controller (PLC). The plants supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system alarms whenever the MAU stops running. 2. Removal and disposal of the old MAU at an appropriate facility. 3. Installation of the new MAU and any associated appurtenances. a. Installation should include: i. Hookup to natural gas service. 1. There is existing natural gas supply to the MAU room from the original unit (Figure 3). ii. Hookup to electrical supply. 1. There is existing 3-phase 480V power and disconnect switch from the original unit (Figures 2 and 3). iii. Hookup to control wiring. 1. The existing control wires are still in place from the PLC cabinet to the original unit. iv. Hookup to ductwork and intake. 1. There is an existing outside air intake from the original unit (Figure 3). 2. There is existing ductwork from the MAU room to the headworks. It includes an air ionization system that is incorporated into the ducts just after the MAU. The air ionization system should remain in place. It operates independently of the MAU and is still in working order (Figure 2). 4. Startup and testing of new MAU after installation. Reference Number 0000327229 The City of Rifle Utilities Department is requesting proposals for the purchase and installation of a replacement makeup air unit (MAU) for the wastewater treatment plant headworks building. The headworks building is ventilated by a 606,000 BTU direct-fired MAU, with a 5,450 CFM blower. The original unit needs to be replaced. Existing electrical, natural gas, and ductwork are still in place and in working order. Question Acceptance Deadline 08/24/2023 at 12:00 PM MT Questions are submitted online No .
