Description

Removal of trees and brush within the approach and Runway Protection Zone of Runway 24. The site includes an existing pond, two existing streams, and wetlands areas. The proposed project actions include stump removal and grass reseeding in areas that are not identified as Waters of the US (i.e. jurisdictional wetlands or streams). Tree stumps will remain in areas that identified as jurisdictional to avoid land disturbance within Waters of the U.S and within the NCDOT right of way. The Runway 24 Obstruction Removal project includes clearing-by stump in place, clearing and grubbing, erosion and sediment control, and re-vegetation (seeding and mulching) to increase safety around the airfield.
