Description | As of January 18, 2023, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The City of Clifton is prohibited from receiving bids on Mondays or any day directly following a State or Federal holiday, according to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4(a) and 40A:11-23 a and b. The Library reserves the right to waive any informalities in bids and to reject any and all bids if it is in the best interest of the Library to do so. General Description of the Project: Furnish all labor and materials for walk-way improvements and the installation of a new touchless activation door operator and related work. Bids must be accompanied by a guarantee in the amount of 10% of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond. Bids must be accompanied by consent of surety regardless of whether a check or Bid Bond is submitted. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish an acceptable Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond. Bidders shall comply with the requirements of the Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action as specified in N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. Bidders must be registered with the Department of Labor and are required to comply with the requirements of Public Law 1999, c.238, "The Public Works Contractor Registration Act". Bidders, their subcontractors and suppliers, must comply with the New Jersey Business Registration requirements. Required bidder information can be found in the specification documents. Bidders shall comply with the requirements of the Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action as specified in N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 and N.J.A. C. 17:27 et seq. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment and supervision to complete modifications for an accessible entrance for the Clifton Public library. Additional work shall include the removal and replacement of the walks, including concrete curb. The work at the Library shall consist of the removal and replacement of a portion of the existing walkway. A Base Bid and Alternate Price for the walkway replacement is part of the Bid. The existing entrance doors are to receive new automatic door openers. The Library is located at 292 Piaget Ave., Clifton, NJ. All work as indicated and/or specified in the Contract Documents.
