Description | For Street Maintenance Materials Bidders shall bid on bid proposal forms addressed to City of Missoula Streets Operations & Maintenance, enclosed in separate sealed envelopes, with separate bid security for each bid, plainly marked on the outside: "Proposal for City Project No. 101-2023 (1) 500 Tons of Emulsified Asphalt"; or "Project No. 103-2023 (3) 2,000 Tons of Hot Mix Asphalt"; or "Project No. 105-2023 (5) 4,000 Tons 3/8-inch Seal Coat Aggregate"; or "Project No. 106-2023 (6) 3,000 Tons 3/8-inch 'Driveway Grade' Hot Mix Asphalt"; or "Project No. 108-2023 (8) 1,500 Tons Drain Aggregate (sump rock)"; or "Project 110-2023 (10) 5,000 Tons 1/2 -inch Winter Traction Aggregate." Proposals must be accompanied by cashier's check, certified check, or bank money order drawn and issued by a national banking association located in the State of Montana, by any banking corporation incorporated in the State of Montana, or by a bid bond or bonds executed by a surety corporation authorized to do business in the State of Montana in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid as a guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into the required contract. The bid security shall identify the same firm as is noted on the bid proposal form. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required of the successful bidder in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the aggregate of the proposal for the faithful performance of the contract and protection of the City of Missoula against liability. Pursuant to Section 18-1-102 Montana Code Annotated, the City is required to provide purchasing preferences to resident Montana vendors and/or for products made in Montana, against the bid of a nonresident if the state of the nonresident enforces a preference for residents. The City of Missoula reserves the right to waive informalities, to reject any and all bids, and if all bids are rejected, to re-advertise under the same or new specifications, or to make such an award as in the judgment of its officials best meets the City's requirements. |
