Phase 4 Repair and Replacement of the Windows and Shutters and Lead Paint Abatement at the Van Der Veer Harris House

PROJECT OBJECTIVE: Repair and Replacement of the Windows and Shutters. SCOPE OF WORK: The work addressed by this prequalification package includes repair and replacement of the windows and shutters and lead paint abatement on the historic Van der Veer Harris House. The following is a brief description of key elements included in the scope of work. 1) Scaffolding / Building Protection: Free-standing scaffolds or vertical access devices may be utilized to facilitate aspects of the project. Scaffolding and/or access devices will be made available to the Owner and Architect as necessary, to facilitate review of work. The equipment must comply with all safety criteria and meet the regulations of OSHA governing scaffold erected on an existing building. 2) Repair of existing wood double-hung and fixed windows: Per the drawings and schedule, remove window sash where indicated, repair off-site, and reinstall. Repair wood frames in-situ. 3) Replacement of select wood double-hung and fixed windows: Per the drawings and schedule, remove existing and replace frame and sash with new window unit. 4) Lead paint abatement at specified locations: Contractor should remove lead paint in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies. 5) Installation of new storm sash and insect screens: Where indicated in window schedule. 6) New wood shutters at the north and south elevations of the Main House: Provide new shutters to match historic shutters. 7) Exterior and Interior Painting: Preparation and painting at window frames, interior trim, sash, and areas adjacent to work.
