Description | As of September 28, 2022, the programming phase is complete and under review for budgetary reasons. A construction manager has been selected and is not releasing any information at this time. A firm construction schedule has not been established. Original Solicitation below: Public Notice is hereby given that the State of Delaware, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), is soliciting letters of interest from Architectural/Engineering firms for Delaware Health and Social Services (DHSS) - New Delaware Home for the Chronically Ill (DHCI). The current DHCI exists on the grounds of the DHSS campus on Sunnyside Road in Smyrna, Delaware. After an assessment study and analysis, it has been decided to construct a new DHCI on this same campus. The new DHCI will be planned for 150 beds at a budget of $50 million, and this will be a skilled nursing facility. Some of the building components needed for the new facility include, but are not limited to, the following: o Facility Administration Office Area o Medical Records Storage o Patient rooms (including Isolation Rooms) o Kitchen (for central feeding as well as remote feeding) w/ Loading Dock and trash disposal facilities o Dining Hall o Doctor office(s) and Exam Room(s) o Dental care o Miscellaneous medical services o Pharmacy o Physical therapy space o Exercise Room o Day Rooms o Laundry (both central laundry and residential machines) o Multi-purpose Rooms o Activities Center (separate from the Multi-purpose Room) o Visitation space o Nurse stations and Break Rooms o Staff Training Rooms o Chapel o Staff Overnight Quarters o Grounds Improvements such as: -Courtyards -Outdoor Pavilion -Walking trails -Bus transportation circulation Each respondent will be required to provide all necessary design services to complete the entirety of the project in order to obtain competitive bids from responsible contractors. This may include, but is not limited to, architectural, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and possible specialty design services, Preparation of bid documents and construction administration must also be provided as part of the successful respondent's scope of work. At this time, it is expected that a Construction Manager will be contracted by the Owner for this Project Questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing to dfm_ask@delaware.gov by Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
