Description | For the furnishing of labor, material and equipment entering into the construction of: RDU terminal 1 flooring replacement All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper licenses under the North Carolina State law for their trades and are responsible for the procurement of appropriate permits for the Work. No bid may be withdrawn within 60 days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Each bid shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to but not less than 5% of the bid or a bid bond of 5% of the bid executed as set forth in the Instruction to Bidders by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds. The deposits shall be made payable to the Owner and shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to properly execute the Construction Agreement within ten (10) days after the award and to give satisfactory surety as required by the Contract Documents. All Bidders shall agree to ensure that Minority and Women-Owned Small Business (MWSB) have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of the work. It is the policy of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority that Minority Businesses as defined in the Authoritys Good Faith Effort Plan and in N.C.G.S. 143-128(c)(1) shall have the maximum opportunity to compete for the awarding of contracts and subcontracts for construction projects advertised for bids by the Authority under N.C.G.S. 143-129 or awarded by means of informal bids under N.C.G.S. 143-131. The Authority shall award contracts without regard to race, religion,color, creed, national origin, gender, age or handicapping condition as defined in N.C.G.S. 168A3. The Authority shall not, nor shall it require its contractors to, award contracts or subcontracts or to make purchases of materials or equipment from Minority Business contractors or subcontractors who are not qualified to perform work and who do not submit the lowest responsible bid or bids. MB Goal: The goal for minority-owned business participation is: Ten percent (10%). WB Goal: The goal for woman-owned business participation is: Five percent (5%). The Bidder agrees, if awarded the contract, to complete fully all Work hereunder within ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTY FIVE (145) consecutive calendar days from and including the specified day of commencement listed in the Notice to Proceed. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and minor irregularities. |
