Roadway Weather Information System and Portable Changeable Message Signs Services

Questions regarding this IFB must be submitted in writing by March 3, 2023. Bidders are encouraged to submit their written questions via e-mail to Katie.Raderchak@dot.ca.gov. The total bid proposal for this Agreement must not exceed $388,000.00. A bid proposal over $388,000.00 will be deemed non-responsive and will be rejected. Payment Bond Requirement: The successful bidder will be required to provide, prior to commencement of work under a Service Request price, a Payment Bond for 100 percent (100%) of the total Service Request, if the Service Request price exceeds $25,000. This Agreement will commence on April 3, 2023 (estimate) or upon approval by Caltrans, whichever is later, and no work shall begin before that time. This Agreement is of no effect unless approved by Caltrans. Contractor shall not receive payment for work performed prior to approval of the Agreement and before receipt of notice to proceed by Caltrans Contract Manager or designee. This Agreement shall expire on April 2, 2026 (estimate). This Agreement requires Prevailing Wages if the total bid amount exceeds $15,000. If the total bid amount is under $15,000, then Prevailing Wage language will be removed prior to award Contractor agrees to provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, travel, and incidentals necessary to provide on-site repair, weekly reports, and annual preventative maintenance for the RWIS and PCMS in addition to RWIS data hosting/management for Caltrans, District 11 East Region, remotely and at various stations along Interstate 8 in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
