Gehman Road Bridge Replacement

The project includes the removal of an existing single span steel beam open grate bridge including abutments, wingwalls and footers; and replacement with a single span reinforced concrete plank bridge including footers, abutments, bridge deck with concrete overlay, approach slabs, wingwalls and footers. The existing bridge has an overall span of 16’-6”, the existing bridge roadway has a curb to curb width (between railings) of 23 feet. The proposed bridge has an overall span of 18 feet, the proposed bridge roadway has a curb to curb width (between railings) of 26’-6”. Construction will occur in a Township right-of-way and will include all required demolition, grading, restoration work, installation of bituminous concrete pavement, lawn area restoration, along with provisions for all necessary erosion and sedimentation controls.
