Furnish and Place Hot Mix Asphalt and Curb

For the furnishing and placing of hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavement and curb, for the specified Contract period. The Contract has indefinite quantities called for at indefinite delivery times during the Contract period. This work shall consist of furnishing and placing tack coat, hot mix asphalt pavement and/or hot mix asphalt curb in accordance with these specifications, and to the lines, grades, thicknesses and typical section established by the Commissioner. The Contractor shall furnish and place hot mix asphalt pavement and/or curb as ordered by the Commissioner or his representative. Paving work will typically consist of 1) placing new pavement on an existing paved surface such as a road or parking lot (in such cases, the Contractor shall first apply a tack coat to the surface to be paved); or 2) placing new pavement on a previously milled, reclaimed, recycled or similarly treated surface on a road or parking lot; or 3) placing new pavement on a newly placed and prepared foundation by others; or 4) applying Asphalt Joint Adhesive if indicated on the order as an Optional item where directed by the Commissioner or his representative. The Contractor may be required to place pavement in one or more courses of the same or different type of HMA.
