HVAC Upgrades/Phase 3 at Center for Creative Arts

Construction of HVAC Upgrades for Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts – Phase 3. A partial replacement of the HVAC system in the existing buildings. The new system will be an extension of the system installed in Phases 1 & 2, which will include ductwork, piping and equipment in the C building and the A Building, including the gym, auditorium, and adjacent spaces. The new hydronic system will tie into the existing pipes in corridors at specific locations as shown on the mechanical plans. The schedule for this project will begin at the execution of the contract and end with the beginning of the school term in fall 2022. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating shutdowns to accommodate the installation. The hydronic system must remain operational while school is in session, therefore much of the project will be required to be executed during the summer of 2022, including all ceiling work and above ceiling piping work. Note though that the contractor will be given 2 classrooms at a time for 2 days on a rotating basis to change out unit ventilators during the school year prior to summer break. Contractor will be required to coordinate with HCDE concerning classroom scheduling.
