Description | The work to be performed under the City of Aurora’s North Campus Well Field Expansion, Former Thornton Property – Groundwater Production Well Drilling Project consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, supplies, and everything else necessary to drill, construct, develop, and performance (pump) test up to six (6) 30-inch diameter shallow alluvial groundwater production wells at the City of Aurora’s North Campus Well Field (Well Field). The Well Field is located on the west bank of the South Platte River approximately midway between Brighton and Fort Lupton, Colorado (refer to accompanying project location map). The City of Aurora anticipates these wells will be constructed using a reverse circulation drilling system. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Drilling of borehole and installation of surface conductor casing. 2. Drilling of production well bore through alluvial gravels and into claystone bedrock. 3. Installation of stainless-steel casing and screen based on site conditions and field design from on-site hydrogeologist. 4. Gravel pack installation based on site conditions and field design. 5. Cement and seal the upper bore. 6. Perform well development and testing, including an 8-hour step test and a 72-hour pump test. 7. Preparation of submittals. 8. Attendance at weekly construction progress meetings. 9. Acquisition of all required permits from Colorado Division of Water Resources, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and Weld County Colorado, and submittal of all required documentation per the permit requirements. |
