Description

A proposal submitted by a bidder who is not in full compliance with the provisions of the Huntington Town Code at the time of submission will be denied. No Change in Specifications Allowed: The BIDDER shall not make any changes in the Specifications. BIDDERS, however, may make any explanations they wish in blank space below Specifications or by memorandum attached to proposal, or by letter attached. No alterations, erasures or additions are to be made in the typewritten matter. Discrepancies: Should the BIDDER find discrepancies in, or omissions from the Contract Documents, or should he be in doubt as to their meaning, he should notify the DIRECTOR who may send a written instruction to all BIDDERS. No oral interpretations shall be made to any BIDDER as to the meaning of any of the Contract Documents. Every request for interpretations shall be in writing to the DIRECTOR. Questions During the Bidding Period: Questions, requests for information or interpretations concerning the drawings or specifications, or any aspect of the project must be addressed in writing to the DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING, TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, Town Hall, 100 Main Street, Room 209, Huntington, New York 11743, Fax # (631) 351-2833 or email at purchasing@huntingtonny.gov and to be given any consideration, must be received at least five (5) business days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Deposits: Bid Security: Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check of the BIDDER payable to the TOWN OF HUNTINGTON in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the TOTAL BID PRICE. Checks or bid bonds will be returned to all except to the three lowest formal bidders within ten (10) days after the formal opening of bids. Upon the award of the Contract to the accepted bidder, the checks or bid bonds will be returned to the remaining two bidders. Required Bonds: The successful bidder shall furnish the OWNER at the time of signing the Contract the following bonds: (a) Faithful Performance Bond - (See Page 44) (b) Labor and Material Bond - (See Page 44) Upon completion of the work, a Maintenance Bond shall be furnished to the OWNER. Method of Award: The right is reserved to waive any informalities in, to reject any or all bids submitted, or to accept the bid and award the Contract to the lowest responsible bidder, therefore pursuant to Section 102 of the General Municipal Law.
