Description | Harris County is soliciting bids for the construction of a pedestrian and bike bridge over Brays Bayou from N Braeswood Blvd to S Braeswood Blvd for Precinct 1. The project, Pedestrian & Bike Bridge over Brays Bayou from N Braeswood Boulevard to S Braeswood Boulevard, consists of the construction of approximately 634 linear feet of pedestrian bridge/ramps and approximately 428 linear feet of concrete trail section. The proposed bridge/ramps will be 14' clear. The proposed trail section will be 10' wide. The pedestrian/bike trail improvements to be performed shall include but not be limited to the following: 1. Removal of approximately 174 linear feet of existing concrete trail section and 3 trees. 2. Construction of 5-inch thick reinforced concrete trail, 10' wide. 3. Construction of pedestrian ramp structures consisting of precast and cast-in-place elements founded on drilled shafts. Includes pedestrian railing. 4. Construction of substructure for pedestrian bridge installation including aesthetic treatments. 5. Fabrication and installation of steel pedestrian bridge spans with cast-in-place concrete deck. 6. Implementation of traffic control plans in accordance with the Traffic Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. 7. Installation of landscaping including canopy trees, understory trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, and block sod. 8. Construct permanent traffic control devices including pavement markings and signs in accordance with Harris County Pavement Marking Details and Specifications and in accordance with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. 9. Provide storm water pollution prevention measures during construction. 10. Implementation of storm water quality management plan. 11. Clean up. In accordance with Section 2258 of the Texas Government Code, contractor and any subcontractor hired by contractor for the construction of any project, shall not pay less than the rates set forth in the Schedule of Prevailing Wages attached and incorporated by reference in each Project Manual. Contractor warrants that it and its subcontractors shall comply with all requirements and worker ratios per the applicable Schedule of Prevailing Wages and Texas state law. Performance and Payment Bonds, requires the vendor to provide a payment bond on all public works jobs that exceed $25,000, and a performance bond on all public works jobs that exceed $100,000.
