Description | The window restoration project is primarily restoring the windows back to the original historic condition, and other related work. Some activities can or must occur concurrently while other activities may require multiple remobilizations. The contractor will complete the following work, which is not listed in order nor is it a complete list, for the Chapel as follows: Removal/Stripping old paint to bare wood and repaint doors, grills and other areas as indicated Prep, prime, paint the interior and exterior faces of the window sashes (including removing and reinstalling windows after restoration) Temporary Protection Restore/Replace windows as indicated in the contract documents Replace broken panes Remove hazardous materials (lead paint, caulk joints, etc.) Remove, repair, refinish, replace north stone lintel, and metal grate cover. Work is to correct the bulge in the stone wall. Clean and repaint existing lintels Install weather stripping Fabricate and Install Storm Windows Campus has been and continues to strive for energy efficiency and sustainability regardless of a LEED designation. To date, we have 3 LEED Gold and 1 LEED Silver buildings. The goal is to strive for Gold, minimum Silver. A walk through of the Project site will be conducted as a part of the Pre-Proposal Conference immediately following the meeting portion of the agenda. Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. A FIFTEEN PERCENT (15%) MBE subcontracting requirement has been established for this project. MBE prime contractors shall comply with the subcontracting requirement. It is the stated policy of MSU to encourage subcontract and prime MBE participation on all contracts where applicable. By submitting a response to the solicitation, the Offeror agrees that Maryland Department of Transpiration (MDOT) MBEs will perform this amount of the contract. MBEs certified by MDOT, are encourage to attend the Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit. Maryland firms are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. It is strongly encouraged to engage MBEs and Small Business firms to have an opportunity at either the demolition and/or new construction phase.
