Description

The Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) is seeking bids for the treatment of its Sewage Treatment Lagoon at the Grand River Energy Center (GREC) in Chouteau, Oklahoma. The Lagoon was constructed around 1980, and receives and treats all sanitary waste generated by employees of the GREC. All of the sanitary waste is processed through an aeration tank, before discharging into the lagoon. There is no further aeration or treatment. The lagoon anaerobically digests solids. It normally functions as a total retention pond, but has an overflow to the onsite wastewater treatment plant. The original depth of 6.5 feet has been reduced considerably by solids deposition. Residual solids have never been removed from the lagoon. The GRDA will be experiencing an increase in the number of employees onsite in the coming months which is prompting GRDA to solicit this bid to reduce or remove solids in order to return the pond to its original depth, and restore the treatment efficiency to its original design capability. The Sewage Treatment Lagoon in question is designated F05 in GREC's OPDES Permit No. (OK0035149) GRDA is soliciting bids for the treatment of the Sewage Treatment Lagoon using technologies, including but not limited to: o Treatment with Microbes o Sludge activation and manipulation o Physical or mechanical methods (Proper management and disposal of sludges is required to be included in a bid which uses these methods) Specifications o Liner Description: Native Clay o Holding Capacity: 2,047,000 gallons 315' x 315' x 6.5' o Location: NW1/4, SW1/4, NE1/4 Section 28, T20N, R19EIM, Mayes County Oklahoma o The Sewage Treatment Lagoon is located south of the GREC energy production processes. o GRDA would like the project to start as soon as possible. As required by the laws of the State of Oklahoma and Employers' Liability limit of $100,000.00
