Description | This project has a participation goal of 10% for certified Targeted Small Businesses participation and shall fill out the Targeted Small Business Participation form as part of the RFP submission The University of Iowa (Owner) is currently in the Programming Phase of a project titled North Inpatient Tower - Construct Building and has been authorized by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa to proceed with procurement of Construction Manager Services where the Construction Manager is at-Risk. The Owner intends to retain a Construction Management firm to join the project team during the Design Phase and to continue through the Construction Phase, occupancy, and warranty period of the project. The Owner is requesting submissions from firms who can demonstrate they have resources, experience, and qualifications to provide Construction Management Services for the project. 1.3 Submissions to the Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for Construction Manager at-Risk (CMaR) services for the North Inpatient Tower - Construct Building project at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, shall be received electronically by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, Facilities Management, Design & Construction, prior to 2:01 p.m. local Iowa time, on the date listed within the RFQ. 1.4 The North Inpatient Tower - Construct Building project will include the new North Inpatient Tower and adjacent multi-story concourse and will create a welcoming front door into the UIHC campus. The hospitals bed capacity will be increased to meet the projected needs, as well as dramatically decrease the number of double-occupancy patient rooms. 1.5 This project scope may include, but is not limited to the following scope of work New entrances to the main hospital for patients, staff, and other visitors. Support spaces for the ancillary patient care functions (Pathology, Radiology, Pharmacy). A new Inpatient surgery platform of multiple ORs, with an increased floor-to-floor height for state-of-the-art equipment and services. Multiple floors of inpatient units (48 beds per floor, comprised of two 24-bed units). Shelled spaces to allow for future growth. Public amenity space with full-glass views to the surrounding Iowa landscape, as well as into Kinnick Stadium from the southwestern corner. Expansion of Hospital Parking Ramp 2 Addition of multiple spaces supporting back-of-house functions-such as a new central hospital-wide kitchen, central sterile, materials management, and new facility-wide loading docks. A tunnel connecting to Stead Family Childrens Hospital which will create a separate circulation path for support services from public paths of travel. A concourse to connect the south façade of the new tower to Stead Family Childrens Hospital. The main hospital servery, dining rooms, and retail space for easy access for patients, visitors, and staff. A skywalk connecting to Hospital Parking Ramp 3 and the West Campus Transportation Center, tying into the existing staff circulation pattern. Mechanical space to support the building |
