Description

The project contemplated consists of replacement of six (6) non-clog dry pit centrifugal activated sludge transfer pumps and associated equipment. The equipment (Battery 5 Activated Sludge Pump Nos. 1, 2, and 3; and Battery 6 Activated Sludge Pump Nos. 1, 2, and 3) are located within the basement of Secondary Control Building 5 and Secondary Control Building 6 (Building 331 and 332) of the South Shore Water Reclamation Facility (SSWRF). The Bid consists of the following work in general: Remove the six (6) existing pump motors, motor stands, and pumps. Remove the six (6) existing suction elbows from existing piping. Blast clean and epoxy coat the six (6) suction elbows, reinstall. Hand tool and epoxy coat the six (6) pump pedestals. Blast clean and epoxy coat the six (6) motor stands. Furnish and install six (6) new nonclog dry-pit centrifugal pumps to the newly painted pump pedestals. Anchor the six (6) newly painted motor stands to the pump pedestals. Furnish and install six (6) new electrical motors. Connect, balance, and align the pumps to the drive systems. Provide all necessary piping and pipe fittings to reconnect the seal flush water supply and drains. Complete 7-day test run on each pump. Other work as described in the specifications and as necessary to complete the project
