Description | Interested parties are invited to submit a proposal to complete the below scope for the proposed )Missouri Eastern Railroad (MER) Union Rehabilitation project near Union, MO Scope of Work MER Union rehabilitation project will be completed between Mileposts 58 and 60.3 near Union, Missouri. Contractor will provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials and logistical support to complete all rehabilitation and track construction work. The scope is further described as follows: o Provide, extract, and install 3053 new 7x9x8-6 cross ties with OTM. o Provide, extract, and install 128 switch ties between 4 turnouts with OTM. o Provide and replace 2050 track feet of rail in Union West Pass with 115# or larger rail with matching OTM. o Provide and install 4071 matching rail anchors. o Provide and distribute 1214 tons of approved ballast. o Surface and Dress 26,094 track feet of track. o Provide and laydown asphalt black top on gravel roadway at West Transload Site. o Include any applicable taxes. o All work will be in accordance with AREMA Standards, ballast shoulders must be dressed at the end of each workday o Additional details concerning the scope of work will be addressed at the pre-bid meeting. Work Windows Impact to current railroad operations must be kept to a minimum. When work must take place that causes an active track to be taken out of service for the purposes of performing work that pertains to the project, the contractor must pre-arrange a defined work window with the railroad. Contractor can anticipate a minimum work window of (8) eight hours with no more than one scheduled interruption in that timeframe between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00. For work windows extending more than eight (8) hours, a minimum of seventy two (72) hours of notification is required to the railroad to arrange this window. Work windows may be arranged seven days a week, if desired. Current railroad operations consist of one (1) train per day through the work area. This schedule is subject to change at any time. All work pertaining to this project shall be completed by May 31, 2023. Failure to complete work by May 31, 2023 may result in the contractor's removal from the property or charges of $400 per calendar day until completed to satisfaction. The structure of your proposal must be clearly understood, all proposals shall provide the following line items and provide the costs as required below. 1. Provide total sum of all line items on the proposal 2. Mobilization and Demobilization - Lump sum 3. Provide, extract, and install 3053 7x9x8-6 crossties 4. Provide, extract, and install 128 switch ties between 4 turnouts with OTM. 5. Provide and replace 2050 track feet of rail in Union West Pass with 115# or larger rail with matching OTM. 6. Weekly reports should include updates to project schedules, any delays, or any change in scope of work. A detail summary report must be submitted at the completion of the project. Daily reporting shall consist of daily progress reports simultaneously emailed to Wes Marshall and Neal Jacobs.
