Description

The scope of work shall include: 1. Comply with the requirements of NFPA 72, Michigan Building Code, Michigan Mechanical Code, and the Authority having jurisdiction. 2. Include plans, elevations, sections, details, and attachments to other work. 3. Include details of equipment assemblies. Indicate dimensions, weights, loads, required clearances, method of field assembly, components and locations. Indicate conductor sizes, indicate termination locations and requirements, and distinguish between factory and field wiring. 4. Detail assembly and support requirements. 5. Include voltage drop calculations for notification-appliance circuits. 6. Include battery size calculations. 7. Include input/output matrix. 8. Include statement from manufacturer that all equipment and components have been tested as a system and meet all requirements in this specification and NFPA 72. 9. Include performance parameters and installation details for each detector. 10. Provide new supply and return air smoke detectors on HVAC equipment. 11. Verify that each duct detector is listed for complete range of air velocity, temperature and humidity possible when HVAC system is operating. 12. Include plans, sections, and elevations of heating, ventilating and air condition ducts, drawn to scale; coordinate location of duct smoke detectors and access to them. a. Show critical dimensions that relate to placement and support of sampling tubes, detector housing, and remote status and alarm indicators. b. Show field wiring required for HVAC unit shutdown on alarm. c. Show field wiring and equipment required for HVAC unit shutdown on alarm and override by firefighters control system. d. Show field wiring and equipment required for HVAC unit shutdown on alarm and override by firefighter’s smoke-evaluation system. e. Locate detectors according to manufacturer’s written recommendations 13. Include voice/alarm signaling-service equipment rack or console layout, grounding schematic, amplifier power calculation, and single line connection diagram. 14. Include floor plans to indicate final outlet locations showing address of each addressable device. Show size and route of cable and conduits and point-to-point wiring diagrams.
