Description

Work on this project will follow the completion of the City of Whitefish water main replacement on this segment. The required completion for the waterline replacement project is 5/31/2023, however work may be started earlier if the project finishes sooner and is approved in writing by the MDT Project Manager. Working hours on this project will be limited from 7pm to 7am, Sunday through Thursday. Work outside of these hours may be approved at the discretion of the MDT project manager. All requests must be submitted in writing Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals, and traffic control necessary to mill roadway full width an average 0.15 feet deep. Roadway averages 38' feet wide and 3,432' feet in length, approximately 14,650 square yards. There are two intersections with bulb outs at all four corners. Paying quantity for sq yds only. MDT recommends Contractor site visit; no additional payment will be made for varying milling depth due to ruts and road being out of section. Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals, and traffic control necessary to produce, haul, place, tack and compact approximately 1,885 tons of 3/8" Commercial Plant Mix Grade S 64-28 asphalt mix material. The overlay shall be paved 0.15 feet thick and approximately 38' feet wide. There are four manholes and four water valves to be milled around and reset. Milling and paving operations are required to be completed within 72 hours for the commencement of the milling. Failure to complete the milling and paving operations within the required time will result in liquidated damage assessment in reference to MDT standard specification 108.08. Provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals, and traffic control necessary to remove and replace 320' lineal ft. of 6" curb and gutter. Curb replacement is located on the East side of project only, between 8th and Riverside. Removal and replacement locations will be determined by the Project Manager. There will be 10 consecutive working days allowed for completion of the concrete work. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to replace striping, words, and symbols in-kind. Contractor is responsible to determine the centerline, lane striping, and symbol locations. Temporary and final striping will be waterborne paint. Drop inlets along the project must be protected by the Contractor from contamination. Question Submission Close Date 2/23/2023 2:00 PM MST
