Description | A groundbreaking ceremony took place November 17, 2022. Construction is expected to last 12 to 18 months Project Description: This project will be a replacement of the existing Washington Westfield Public Library. The new building (54,000 SF) will be two stories, the west wing belonging to the Westfield Washington Township. The Westfield Washington Township wing is to be priced separately from the Library building. Proposals: Please submit on company letterhead. Breakout pricing between the Library and the Township (west "wing", Column Line N through R). Alternates in spec 01 23 00 Alternates. Break out the alternates between Library and Township as well. Taxes: Tax Exempt Schedule: Construction to begin November 2022 and finish January 2024. Please review, incorporate, and acknowledge on your bid proposal. Upcoming Addenda: 9/2, 9/9 *Updates 1. Site photos have been uploaded. Buildings shown on the Alta Survey have been demolished. It is up to the Earthwork contractor to visit the site and accept the existing conditions. 2. Rammed Aggregate Piers are not required for this project. The Earthwork contractor is responsible for reviewing the Geotech and following the recommendations therein. 3. We are accepting direct bids from Special Systems Contractors. Let me know if you have questions. Addendum 2 will come this Friday 9/2, and there will be a final Addendum the Friday before the bid 9/9. *Addendum 2 and a Construction Schedule have been uploaded. *Updated Sheet M6-11 has been uploaded and goes with Addendum 3. ***Some Clarifications for Bidders from Meyer-Najem: The Bid Date and Time has been extended to this Friday, 9/16 no later than 10am. See other bidding FAQ’s below. 1. Scope Packaging - Scope packages were issued to show how we would like work packaged, but you do not have to strictly adhere to them. We will accept any form of bid packaging, and will fill scope gaps as needed(ex. if you would like to bid flooring, but cannot provide all flooring types, we will still take your bid). 2. Scopes of Work - No detailed scopes will be issued before bid day. Please provide what services/materials/etc. that you typically perform. If you have specific scope questions, or would like a sample scope, you may request one via email. 3. Cost Breakout Between Township & Library - Break out costs if you can. If you can’t, we will break out on a SF percentage basis between areas. Any site items do not need to be broken out. We will break the site items out on a SF percentage basis. 4. Bid Bonds - None Required 5. Performance & Payment Bonds - Not required at this time. We will re-visit with the low bidders with scopes of work over $500,000. 6. Private Project - This is a private project utilizing the Build-Operate-Transfer Model (BOT). This means there will be no public bid requirements (i.e. bid forms, mailed forms, official bid packages, etc.) 7. Meyer Najem is the General Contractor - Your contract will be with Meyer Najem 8. Tax Exempt - This project is tax exempt 9. Esc alation - Please carry material escalation in your bid. Review the project schedule in the files for start dates of work. You may bill for stored materials offsite as long as you follow the items listed below: Insurance documented for location on where the materials are located Pictures documenting materials are for Westfield Library & Township project. Materials must be tagged Material invoices separated on sworn statement with pay application. |
