Description

As of 9/18/2023, Currently in negotiations with Katerberg Verhage (low bidder) to reduce the contract amount ($251,771.00) to get it close to budget ($200,000.00). This project will likely be postponed until next spring. Estimate is $175,000 for construction cost. The City of Hastings assumes no responsibility of any kind or nature for any costs incurred by any potential vendor in the preparation of a response to this RFP. This applies to and includes any costs of delivery a Proposal timely. Any questions regarding the RFP must be submitted before Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. If necessary, an addendum to the RFP will be provided to all holders of the RFP of record. No proposal or bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening of the proposals or bids except as provided in the RFP. COMPLETION DATE: Friday, June 16 th 2023 The City of Hastings reserves the exclusive, unencumbered right to: A. Cancel, revise, or amend the RFP; B. Reject any proposal or bid or all proposals or bids submitted in response hereto in whole or in part; C. To waive any irregularities in any proposal or bid; D. To award the whole or part of the work or goods that are the subject of this RFP to that offeror whose proposal or bid is, as determined in the sole discretion of the City, to be in the best interest of the City considering such factors as it may deem pertinent. Parking lot 8 can be visited with the Director of Public Services to review any questions related to the project Impervious area for the Proposed Parking lot 8 Reconstruction is estimated to be 12,190 ft2. It is recommended that the bidding contractors verify as built sizes prior to submitting proposals. 2. Parking lot 8 can be visited with the Director of Public Services to review any questions related to the project. 3. Lot 8 is located East of N. Jefferson Street and South of E. State Street. 4. Contractor shall be responsible for set up of appropriate traffic control for closing sidewalk and work on street ROW, at no cost to the City. 5. Contractor shall be responsible for construction staking by a licensed surveyor, at no cost to the City. 6. Contractor shall be responsible for material testing of placed subbase, base, HMA courses, and concrete, at no cost to the City. Contractor will submit all test results within 5 days of observation to the Director of Public Services for inspections. 7. Contractor shall provide record ('as-built') drawings that are verified and signed by a licensed surveyor. Deliverables will include a 24" by 36" paper copy, electronic PDF Copy, and an electric DWG format copy Construction start date will be no earlier than Tuesday, September 5, 2023
