Life safety code building survey and inspection of the existing structures for any changes under the fire life safety compliance for the owner(s) for the Veterans Affairs Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS), Primary Care Clinics (PCC), Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC), Veterans Recovery Center (VRC), and El Campo Warehouse, and provide professional consultation to the VASNHS in conducting the tri-annual facility survey life safety code inspection review. The review will be conducted by a qualified fire protection engineer. A qualified fire protection engineer is defined as an individual with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles of physics and chemistry governing fire growth, spread and suppression, meeting one of the following criteria: (a) An engineer having an undergraduate or graduate degree from a college or university offering a course of study in fire protection or fire safety engineering, plus a minimum of eight years' work experience in performing VA Statement Of Conditions (SOC) surveys and reports. (b) A professional engineer (P.E. or similar designation) registered in fire protection engineering, plus a minimum of eight years’ work experience in performing VA SOC surveys and reports in the form of Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawing and compact digital disc (CD).
