Description

*All bids rejected. At this time there is no timeline for a rebid. The content team is actively seeking a rebid timeline.* THE PROJECT GENERALLY CONSISTS OF: Upgrades to the influent pump station, including piping modifications and the replacement of the four (4) existing solids handling pumps. Construction of two (2) new sequencing batch reactors (SBRs), including mixing and aeration systems, tanks, and associated access systems. Modifications to the existing activated sludge treatment basin, including removal of the existing equipment, concrete rehabilitation, access systems and piping improvements to convert the tank to Post-Equalization Storage. Replacement of the existing chlorine contact basin with a new dual channel structure. Construction of a new chemical storage and feed building including all storage tanks, pumps, and chemical piping. Construction of a new electrical building including all equipment and piping. Construction of a new sludge holding tank including decanting valves and piping, overflow piping, sludge removal piping, access systems and a diffused aeration system. Construction of a new pre-engineered metal building, a new pre-engineered fiberglass building for dry storage, and a new administration building. Upgrades to the Dillsboro Lift Station including the replacement of the two (2) existing submersible solids handling pumps. Installation of a new standby generator, improvements to the existing electrical systems at WWTP #2 and the Dillsboro lift station, improvements to the existing instrumentation and controls systems at WWTP #2 and the Dillsboro Lift Station. The Contractor is also responsible for the installation and maintenance of erosion control and temporary safety measures during construction, clearing and grubbing, demolition, bypass pumping, earthwork, stormwater improvements and the restoration of surfaces. In accordance with Article 25 of the Instructions to Bidders, bidders and other interested parties should note that prequalification of equipment manufacturers by the Engineer prior to the bid opening is required for some of the equipment on this project. Sequencing Batch Reactor Equipment proposals, including Positive Displacement Blowers, will be accepted until 1:00 pm local time on June 10th, 2022. Proposals will be evaluated, and a single manufacturer will be pre-selected in advance of the bid opening. Refer to Supplementary Instructions to Bidders, Sections 431122 and 465353 for additional information. The deadline for prequalification submittals of equipment is 5:00 pm local time on June 28th, 2022.
