Description | The intent of this Request for Proposal is to establish an agreement to provide preventative maintenance for Generator Services on a non-exclusive basis as a preferred vendor to the Saint Louis Zoo, as required for a term of two years (2) years. All pricing for the core items are to remain firm for the two (2) years of the contract. With an option to extend an additional two (2) years if mutually agreed upon by both parties. Two PM service visits are required each year for all generators listed (see Attachment 1). Each visit should include all system checks listed below with one of the visits to include oil change, oil filter change, and fuel filter change for each generator. In addition, one load test should be performed annually for all generators with the results provided to the Zoo project owner. This scope of work to be performed should include labor, parts, travel time and mileage for the equipment listed on this agreement. Any additional work, recommended or required, should be brought to the Zoo project owner's attention. Upon approval, additional work will be performed for agreed upon charge. Engine Inspect air filter, clean/replace as needed Adjust, clean and/or replace all spark plugs Check condition/tension of belts (adjust as needed) Check/clean ignition system, distributor, coils, wires (if applicable) Check fuel lines for leaks/damage Check flexible fuel line connections Lubricate governor and linkage Inspect hoses, clamps for any air intake restrictions Oil System o Change oil (annually) o Change oil filters (annually) o Oil Sample (optional) o Inspect for leaks Cooling System o Check radiator coolant level o Test/record anti-freeze temperature o Test/record anti-freeze nitrites o Check for leaks o Check all hoses o Check operation of engine block heater Battery o Inspect/clean terminal on cables o Clean and grease battery post/cable o Check battery fluid level o Check/record battery volts/amps o Check/record charger volts/amps o Check/record alternator volts/amps o Load test or perform specific gravity test Starting System o Check start solenoid terminals o Check starter connections Electrical o Inspect control panel: check gauges, meters and indicator lights o Visually inspect electrical connections o Inspect main line circuit breaker o Check generator output voltage o Visually inspect generator and exciter windings Fuel System o Change fuel filter(s) (annually) o Check for fuel leaks o Clean/inspect fuel bowl or water separator (if applicable) o Check injection pump lines o Check nozzle supply, return lines and fittings o Check day tank operation and record level o Check fuel transfer pump o Check fuel solenoid o Check fuel pressure regulator o Inspect fuel tank and rupture basin for leaks Exhaust System o Visually inspect for leaks/damage o Visually inspect flexible exhaust o Drain condensation trap Operating Check o Run and inspect for proper oil pressure, o coolant/oil temperature, alternator charger rate, generator voltage and frequency o Record all gauge and meter readings o Check for leaks and excessive vibration o Test all safety shutdown devices o Check operation of louvers (if applicable) Automatic Transfer Switch o Inspect ATS & enclosure for corrosion, moisture o Inspect controls and calibrate as needed o Check and verify operation of exercise clock o Record normal and emergency frequency and voltage at ATS connection o Perform power failure or building load test (with approval); check/record amperage and voltage on each leg o Check transfer switch contacts for voltage drop (normal and emergency) o Return all switches into proper operating mode Reports and Instruction o Submit inspection/test report to owner with any recommendations of future work/parts required o Instruct owner personnel in operating or upkeep procedure All questions must be received by May 18, 2022 for issuing of addendums. All emailed questions and answers will be shared with all responders. The source of the questions will remain anonymous. Addendums will be placed on the Zoo website as they become available: stlzoo.org/vendor. Any oral responses shall be unofficial and not binding on the Zoo.
