Description | The proposed Master Plan is a ten-year, four-phase Master Plan for the Mayfield Junior School located at 405 South Euclid Avenue. The purpose of the Master Plan is to address on-site parking needs and facility modernization, including additional underground parking, upgrading the athletic field and play areas, reconstruction of a library building and middle school building, and renovation of elementary school building. Phase 1: -Demolition of the existing 38,831 square foot grass athletic field -Extend the existing underground parking area by 32,436 square feet -Add 79 new parking spaces and 14 bicycle parking spaces -Construction of new artificial field and fencing -Installation of an electronic scoreboard Phase 2: -Demolition of existing 6,826 square foot Library Building and 24,819 square feet of landscaping -Construction of a new 20,025 square foot Center for Teaching and Learning Building and 24,991 square foot of new landscaping and playground -A 5,430 square foot underground basement addition to the existing Gymnasium -Demolition and reconstruction of the basketball court Phase 3: -Renovation of the existing 8,120 square foot Elementary Building -Construction of a new 960 square foot Entry Pavilion addition to the Elementary Building -Demolition of 5,401 square feet of existing landscape and construction of 4,441 square feet of new landscape and walkway area Phase 4: -Demolition of existing 17,233 square foot Hayden Building and 43,701 square feet of adjacent landscape -Construction of the new 40,500 square foot Middle School Building and 32,946 square feet of landscape On December 12, 2023, the City of Pasadena Planning Commission recommended approval of the Master Plan. An architect has been assigned. Neither a general contractor nor a selection method has been disclosed.
