Description | The work includes the furnishing of all labor, material and equipment necessary or required to complete all work set forth in these specifications to have the existing production well, known as Well No. 1A, mechanically redeveloped to increase the capacity of the well. The work includes two (2) 8-hour pumping tests at the well to determine the present yield and drawdown of the well and the upgraded capacity of the well upon completion of the work; removal of the existing pump and other equipment; furnishing and installing a new high-efficiency motor; replacing of worn or defective components prior to reinstallation of the well components or equipment; convert well from oil lube to water lube; TV inspections of existing well conditions; well redevelopment using the specified mechanical methods and chemicals; vibration testing and clean-up and site restoration. Please note that you may contact Matt Hanratty of the Burlington Township Water Department at (609) 239-5908 to arrange a pre-bid inspection of Well No. 1A. A pre-bid meeting will not be held. Bids must be made on the standard proposal form in the manner designated therein and must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the Township of Burlington, and must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Bid Bond or Cashier's Check drawn to the order of the Township of Burlington for not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid, provided said security need not be more than $20,000.00. All bid guarantees shall be accompanied by an executed consent from an approved surety company, licensed to conduct business in the State of New Jersey, agreeing to furnish the required Payment, Performance and Maintenance Bonds upon the award of Contract. A "Surety Disclosure Statement and Certification" form must also accompany the bid pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2A:44-143. Bids must be accompanied by a Statement of Corporate Ownership in accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2. In the case of corporations not chartered in the State of New Jersey, a proper certificate shall be provided stating that such corporation is authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. The signed proposal form and bid security must be delivered to the Office of the Township Engineer on or before the hour named above; Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq., Affirmative Action Regulations. The accepted bidder must sign the contract within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award or forfeit his bid security. Bid securities will be returned to all but the three apparent lowest responsible bidders. All other bid securities will be returned within three days after awarding and signing of the contract and approval of the Contractor's Payment and Performance Bonds, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays excepted. The Township Council reserves the right to reject any or all proposals in whole or in part, or to make awards to such bidder or bidders who, in the judgment of the Township Council, makes the most advantageous bid and to waive such informalities as may be permitted by law. |
