Description | As of September 26, 2022,this project is canceled. No definite date for the rebid. As owner of the baseball stadium, the City of Winston-Salem is funding upgrades to Truist Stadium at 951 Ballpark Way, Winston-Salem NC 27101 to meet the new mandatory MLB standards. This work includes improvements to the home and visiting team clubhouse areas; additional team facilities; and improvements to the playing field. The home team clubhouse will need upgrades to the commissary area and laundry facilities, along with expanding the equipment room. The visiting team clubhouse requires increasing the floor space of the dressing area; upgrades to the commissary, shower and toilet facilities, training room, and coaches' locker room; and a separate office, with amenities, for the visiting manager. Additional team facilities include adding a second hitting/pitching tunnel. Both tunnels must be protected from the elements. Improvements to the playing field include heights and slope of bullpen mounds, wall height in the rightfield corner, field drainage, and a review of existing lighting. The construction management at risk (CMR) method has been selected for delivering this project (as authorized by NCGS 143-128.1). The selected construction manager will manage both preconstruction and construction of the improvements. The construction manager will work with the City's architect during the preconstruction phase to design the project to the project budget. Preconstruction services will include, but are not limited to: project review, consultation during preconstruction services, value analysis, schedule, logistics plan, quality assurance/quality control, constructability review, construction cost model/estimates, coordination of contract documents, and development of a Guaranteed Maximum Price for construction. Construction should begin no later than when the 2023 baseball season begins, if possible. |
