Description

Tabernacle Township Board of Education ("Owner") will receive bids for HVAC Renovations (Phase 2) at Kenneth R. Olson Middle School (FVHD-5375A1) 132 New Road, Tabernacle, NJ 08088 and Tabernacle Elementary School (FVHD-5375B1) 141 New Road, Tabernacle, NJ 08088 , together with all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the requirements of the drawings and specifications prepared by Fraytak Veisz Hopkins Duthie, P.C. (FVHD) 1. Remove and relocate existing metal shelving units and plastic laminate countertop at Tabernacle Elementary School, as indicated on the drawings. 2. Remove a section of the existing suspended acoustic tile ceiling to facilitate the installation of new exposed ductwork at Tabernacle Elementary School, as indicated on the drawings. 3. Provide and install new VCT flooring, transition strip, rubber base at Tabernacle Elementary School, as indicated on the drawings. 4. Temporarily remove the indicated exterior mechanical louvers, block up the existing masonry opening with cmu, rigid insulation, aluminum panels and reinstall the existing louver, where indicated on the drawings. 5. Provide and install new miscellaneous structural steel at the existing roof structure for new roof openings and to reinforce the existing steel bar joists, as indicated on the drawings. 6. Provide and install new pipe portal, HVAC mechanical curbs, counterflashing and roof repairs to the unwarranted SBS roof system, as indicated on the drawings. 7. All mechanical and electrical system work, as indicated on the drawings and as indicated below: a. The Scope and Objectives of the HVAC Work of this Project includes, but is not limited to: 1) Selected removals on HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, insulation, valves and accessories; 2) HVAC Equipment including unit ventilators and rooftop units; 3) Ductwork; 4) Piping; 5) Ductwork and piping insulation; 6) Testing, adjusting and balancing; 7) Automatic temperature controls; 8) Owner training; 9) Preparation of coordination drawings; 10) Preparation of as-built drawings in AutoCad format; The Scope and Objectives of the Electrical Work of this Project includes, but is not limited to: 1) Disconnect and remove wiring to existing HVAC equipment; 2) Provide new wiring and circuit breakers to new HVAC equipment; 3) Remove and/or relocate lighting fixtures, cable connectors and receptacles; 4) Provide new 120 volt receptacles at new rooftop air conditioning units as indicated; 5) Provide new duct detectors for new rooftop air conditioning units and connect to the existing fire alarm panel; 6) Provide new carbon monoxide detectors as indicated and connect to the existing fire alarm panel; 7) Owner training; 8) Preparation of coordination drawings; 9) Preparation of as-built drawings in AutoCad format; 10) Periodic inspection of completed work to confirm compliance with Contract Documents. Bids will be received for: Single Overall Contract (C032 with C047 and C009) Any Bid received after that time shall be rejected. The Board of Education and the Architect assume no responsibility for bids mailed or misdirected in delivery. All attendees must be mindful of any public health emergency policies and protocols pursuant to the School District. Contractors assume all risks associated with their presence on District premise. Construction workers shall follow recommended precautions to protect themselves and other workers, staff, students, etc. at the project site(s). All requests for information (RFI) must be submitted in writing by end of business Sept. 29, 2022 and sent by faxing to 609-883-2694 or by emailing cwoodward@fvhdpc.com, or via common carrier to the Architect. All correspondence must include the Architect Project Name and Project Number referenced. The Architect is not responsible for misdirected or misrouted correspondence. Bid Proposal shall be submitted in duplicate (one original and one copy) in a sealed envelope, addressed to the Owner, bearing the name and address of the bidder, and clearly marked "BID" with the contract title and/or bid number on the outside of the envelope and must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond drawn to the order of the Owner in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000; and must be delivered to the above place on or before the hour named. The Board of Education and the Architect assume no responsibility for bids mailed or misdirected in delivery. If the bid exceeds $20,000 bidder must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC), prior to the date that bids are received. Any bid submitted under the terms of New Jersey statutes not including a copy of a valid and active Pre-qualification/ Classification Certificate shall be rejected as being non-responsive to bid requirements. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25, each proposal shall be accompanied by a Proposition of Surety from a Surety Company stating it will provide each bidder with separate Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract sum. Also, Surety agrees to furnish bidder with a Maintenance Bond in required form. The Proposition of Surety shall be executed by an approved surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and in accordance with N.J.S.A. 2A:44-143, and 2A:44-144 and with the three highest rating categories of rating companies nationally recognized. This project is subject to the New Jersey State Prevailing Wage Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.27 et seq. All bidders must comply with N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. and N.J.S.A. 10:2-1. An Initial Project Workforce Report will be required from the successful bidder (Form AA-201). Pursuant to "The Public Works Contractor Registration Act", N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq., bidders and their subcontractors are required to be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and to possess a current certificate by said Department indicating compliance with the Act prior to the time and date that bids are received. All contractors and subcontractors must provide a Business Registration Certificate (BRC) per N.J.S.A. 52:32-44. The BRC must be on file prior to award of contract. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The right is reserved to reject all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-22 and to waive minor informalities in the bidding in accordance with applicable law.
