Description | Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 143-131, bids will be received by the City of Asheville as noted in the "IB-02 RECEIPT AND OPENING OF BIDS" section of the Instructions to Bidders. This contract covers the weedeating (string trimming) of City of Asheville guardrails. Also included is the removal of trees less than 6 inches in diameter at breast height at the direction of the City inspector. Removed trees shall be trees that are either growing through the guardrail or in front of the guardrail. The City desires two complete of guardrail trimming be performed under this contract The Asheville Business Inclusion Policy requires Minority and Women Business Enterprise outreach on City contracts. Additionally, N.C.G.S. 143-128.2 requires minority and women business outreach for building construction projects requiring the below provided information to be ported to the State of North Carolina Office of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB). The Bidder shall provide applicable ABI Affidavits, as described in the project manual on page 13 - Asheville Business Inclusion (ABI Goals), with their bid in order to be deemed responsive, failure to do so will result in the Bidders bid being deemed non-responsive and disqualified All questions concerning this Advertisement for Bids should be submitted via email to: Project Manager Chuck Watson cwatson@ashevillenc.gov Questions pertaining to the bid will be answered in the form of a written addenda posted to the City of Asheville's bid page no later than seven (7) days before the opening of bids. The City of Asheville reserves the right to postpone bid openings for its own convenience. In the event of inclement weather and the City Offices are closed, the bid opening will be held at 3:00 p.m. the next business day that the City Offices are open.
