Description

DCAMM Certificate Required. The Fall River Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) is an oxygen activated sludge secondary treatment plant serving a combined sewer system and CSO storage tunnel. It has a monthly average permitted capacity of 30.9 MGD. Its wet weather capacity is 106 MGD for primary and disinfection and 50 MGD for secondary treatment. Solids processing includes gravity thickeners, belt filter press dewatering and associated chemical feed systems and odor control systems. 1. Modifications to the existing three (3) sludge thickeners and one (1) emergency sludge storage tank, 2. Modifications to the thickened sludge pump station (located between the sludge thickener tanks), 3. Demolition and replacement of the two (2) solids processing odor control systems, ducts, duct supports and foundations, 4. Modifications to the chemical building located west of the sludge thickener tanks, 5. New electrical building located to the south of the sludge thickener tanks to support sludge thickening, sludge storage and odor control systems, 6. Modifications to the existing Dewatering Building and Sludge Transfer Building to repurpose as the Solids Handling Building including building systems and process equipment modifications, 7. New building construction of Solids Handling Building expansion to include locker rooms, laboratory, and office space in area of previously demolished building and operations facilities, 8. Renovation of existing Administration Building, 9. Furnishing and installing miscellaneous yard piping and structures, 10. Furnishing and installing miscellaneous site, access, and security improvements, 11. Furnishing and installing SCADA network and control system improvements, 12. Geotechnical monitoring, earth support and dewatering systems, 13. Temporary facilities for maintenance of plant operations during construction, 14. Hazardous materials abatement, and other Work as required to complete project.
