Ridge Road Culvert Replacement

The project includes, but is not limited to, removal and replacement of two existing 57" X 38" corrugated metal pipe arches and one 12" X 15" corrugated metal pipe arch. The existing two-arch culvert shall be replaced with a new aluminum structural plate low profile box culvert with full invert plate. The existing corrugated metal pipe arch culvert shall be replaced with a new reinforced concrete pipe with flared concrete end sections. The scope of work also includes installation of guiderail, installation of aluminum headwalls, existing pavement removal and road resurfacing, erosion and sediment pollution controls, and other associated work.Union Township will procure the structural plate box culvert and any appurtenant structural components; the procurement of this item shall not be considered part of the project cost through this lump-sum contract. Employee(s) of the culvert manufacturer will be available during the installation of the culvert for supervision, if requested by Contractor.Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, bank cashier's check , trust company treasurer's check or bid bond (in the required form) for ten percent (10%) of the bid total. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 5/31/2022 10:00 AM BID TYPE Fixed Fee Contract Prevailing wage rates and record-keeping procedures established by Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry shall apply to the project. Union Township hereby reserves the right, which is understood and agreed to by all bidders, to reject any and all bids and to waive any omissions, errors, mistakes, defects or irregularities in any bid at its sole discretion. The aluminum plate arch culvert, headwalls, and appurtenant material will be procured directly by Union Township. However, the contractor is responsible for assembly and installation. The culvert manufacturer will provide on-site supervision for culvert assembly. Liquidated damages : Contractor shall pay Owner $500.00 for each day
