Description

The wet pond is to be retrofitted to include floating treatment wetlands. The FTWs shall be placed perpendicular to the flow path of water as indicated in Figures 1-2 and on the attached map plan sheet. FTWs and pond water quality will be included in ongoing stormwater research at NC State University. At least 3 rows of FTWs covering the width of the temporary pool (approximately 60 ft; see plan sheet) shall be installed and secured to the banks of the pond on each side. FTWs shall be secured using anchor or tether systems that allow FTWs to safely rise and fall between temporary pool and bypass conditions. The FTWs shall be installed with wetland vegetation native to eastern North Carolina by the contractor. The contractor shall also install geese exclusion to protect the FTWs.
