False Cape State Park Residence Alternate Septic System Sod Replacement

A.Contractor must pump septic tank prior to installation. B.Park Staff will contact VA811 to have all utility lines marked prior to installation. C.Contractor should cut out distribution pipes if needed to make removing the old peat easier, if not a common practice for this type of replacement explain in the detail of their specifications sheet as to reason why this step is not needed. D.Contractor shall dig out old peat moss with shovels remove from site and dispose of properly. E.Contractor shall remove old gravel and replace as needed or explain in the specifications sheet as to reason why this step is not needed. F.Contractor shall clear drainage holes at bottom of Puraflo pod using a screwdriver or other tool to ensure roots have not grown into holes. If roots are in holes, new holes must be drilled or explain in the specifications sheet as to reason why this step is not needed. G.Contractor shall test drainage with garden hose including pouring water into pods to ensure drainage prior to installation of new gravel if new gravel is found to be needed. H.Contractor shall provide and install new gravel if needed. I.Contractor shall supply Puraflo peat as required for the system. J.Contractor shall re-install distribution system when pods are 65% full. K.Contractor shall finish install with 1 bag under distribution pipes and .25 bag on top of pipe. L.Contractor shall agree to park supervision during project and provide pictures at each stage of replacement as confirmation of stage completion. M.Contractor must provide attachment A and be a licensed Septic System Contractor to bid. N.Proof of active licensure will be required upon request from Contracting Officer.
